Learning Objectives:

  • Discuss the role of regimen simplification for people with HIV on complex, multi-tablet regimens.
  • Review current Department of Health and Human Services (DHHS) and International Antiviral Society-USA (IAS-USA) guidelines and recommendations for HIV treatment-experienced patients.
  • Describe the role of the newer investigational treatments in regimen simplification.

 

John J. Faragon, PharmD, BCPS, BCGP, AAHIVP, is the Regional Pharmacy Director for the Northeast Caribbean AETC, and a pharmacist at Albany Med Health System specializing in HIV Medicine. He completed his BS in Pharmacy and Doctor of Pharmacy degrees from Albany College of Pharmacy and Health Sciences (ACPHS) in New York State and completed an Adult Internal Medicine/Education residency. He is Board Certified in Geriatrics and Pharmacotherapy through the American College of Clinical Pharmacy and is certified as a pharmacy subject matter expert with the American Academy of HIV Medicine.
